Car Weigh-In and Registration: All cars must be weighed-in to compete!
When: Thursday, February 26th, 5:30PM-8:00PM
Where: The Mackoff Garage, 145 Stratford Road, Needham

Details: The Weigh-In serves as the official registration for the Derby. Cars are registered by number and name, and are weighed and checked against size requirements and inspection rules (see the Derby Info Packet for all rules). It usually takes about 10-15 minutes. **After weigh in, we will hold onto all cars and will transport them to race day.**
Important Reminders for the Weigh-In:
Your scout must have a finalized name for their car by the weigh-in
Your assigned car number must be clearly visible and firmly attached or painted on the car. New this year: all cars must use the sticker numbers provided in the box on the back of the car for race day. The number can be displayed elsewhere as well but it must be on the back too with the stickers. This ensures a smooth race day!
Cars must be completely finished - paint must be dry, wheels attached, etc
Any graphite application to wheel axles must occur prior to arriving to weigh in.
While we encourage families to weigh their cars at home to have an idea of the weight, only the official weight, calculated at the weigh-in using the Pack's scales, will count as the official weight.
Simple tools will be available to remove excess weight, attach weight if needed (please bring your own weights) and for emergency repairs
The maximum weight for a car is 5oz. This is strictly enforced to ensure fairness.
Standard, unmodified wheels and “nail” axles (supplied with kit) must be used; no after-market wheels and/or axles are permitted.
Cars will be left with Ashley at the weigh-in and will be returned to scouts following the Derby.

Details: Derby races will be run by Den, with the winning car from each Den competing in the finals. We do our best to adhere to the times below, but please understand that many factors can affect the schedule, and no race time is guaranteed. Families are welcomed and encouraged to attend as many of the races (as they're able) to cheer on the different dens. It is a long day if you stay the whole time so please plan ahead with water and snacks.
